Some of the big names include former national champion and last year’s runner-up Greg Ackland who will return from Victoria to take aim at his first SA title. South Australia’s quicks, Derek Foster and David Mahon, know the course well and are also back to stake their claim as the 2015 State Champion. Bring in Dean Tighe (travelling from Queensland) in his Judd F1 powered Dallara; Michael McGinn and the Minehan brothers in Haywards and Alan Foley in his turbo Hyabusa powered Dallara (also travelling from interstate) and the competition for outright honours is guaranteed to be huge.

It was exactly one year ago that the track record had to be lowered to 27.25 secs to secure the championship and whoever can crack it again this year will go a long way towards being crowned champion.

Not only will drivers be competing for outright honours but there will also be a raft of individual contests for Class bragging rights. From the Sports Sedans to Clubmans, Historic racers and daily driver’s there are battles to be found throughout the field. Live timing of results are continuously displayed to ensure everyone knows the standings and Sunday will wrap up with the massively popular Top Ten shoot out where the fastest 5 Open Wheelers and fastest 5 Tin Tops go for broke to set their best time in a single run – no second chances here.

Throughout the weekend the Collingrove Club building will be open and spectators can visit the Pit area for an up close view of the competition cars and to have a chat to the drivers and pit crew. With numerous viewing areas around the track, spectators are invited to bring a picnic and watch the best of competition – a perfect opportunity to enjoy some of the Barossa’s local produce.
